Ah ha we have had pizza to celebrate

Yup we moved some dirt today and also got consent from the council


And had a great day gardening with 2 new customers which meant we didn't get to unload the trailer till it was getting dark , as this one shows

Bonfire deluxe

Spent Saturday afternoon having a wee bonfire that turned into quite a large one or 2 medium sized ones if you like. As it was tinder dry and soon caught hold of the wood in the foreground that we had intended to go through and get some out for the woodburner, but plans of mice and men and all that....
All gone today :-)
So tree planting was the order of the day. Clare hard at it here with the Feijoa in the hole......
We used some potting compost mixed in with the soil to hopefully give them a good start. Then weed matted and stone mulched them having given them a good drink.
So there we are our first trees planted. The plant in the foreground is a Canna which one of my customers donated to us for our plot, nice one

Hi Folks,

As you will be aware from the email we decided to BLOG!!!

This is a site where we can keep you all up to speed with our adventures and in particular THE house build :-)

So with that in mind today we installed our pipe work - namely electric, water and telephone.

This is Ben and Sam finishing the trench by hand - Clare only stopped digging to take the pic! Luckily we had a digger to do the rest, which was just as well as its quite stony.

Then the electric cable to go in - my what a long one !!! 215 metres to be precise.

Then 100mm of sand followed by the trench being back filled half way up ready for the water pipe and telecom man to lay his cable. Job done by 3 pm after a couple of tea breaks and some yummy biccies.
